Levi Clow is running for North Bend City Council.   The following is a post Levi Clow made to his then Facebook page on June 30.  His Facebook page no longer exists, so it’s unclear if he took it down after posting this, or if Facebook took it down, since Jillian Ward a reporter for the World Newspaper at the time apparently reported the threatening incident.  Levi was a guest on the Rob Taylor  radio show on October 5, 2020, and received three calls, one from NBCFGFG to call Levi out on his propensity for constantly circulating misinformation to the people of North Bend.  Today he was educated on the fact that the Public Safety Fee law suit for which the City of North Bend was involved had no connection whatsoever to NBCFGFG.  Levi eventually admitted he was relying on rumor he had “heard,” and we reminded him as a City Council candidate he can’t rely on rumor.  He must do his own research and verify information the old fashioned way, with hard work.  Levi further asserted that NBCFGFG or Jim Rose never made any alternative budget recommendations to the City or the voters.  In fact NBCFGFG requested a presentation on June 23, 2020, to share with City Council our significant research findings regarding that actual state of the City budget and numerous opportunities for savings. NBCFGFG research was based on the preliminary 2020-21 budget first released by the City in June.  That presentation by Frazier Pruett and John Briggs was roundly ignored by the City Council including the two candidates running in this election, Timm Slater and Jessica Engelke.  Levi argued that no presentation was made before the vote in May.  Levi, who is ignorant of the City’s budget process, didn’t realize NBCFGFG didn’t get a draft budget to analyze until the city released their first draft budget early June, nearly a MONTH after the election.  On the radio show,  Levi publicly supported Jessica Engelke’s assertion that a marina and dock would be a good use of Urban Renewal Money in the City.  We pointed out to Levi that CEDCO and the Oregon International Port of Coos Bay had cooperated on conducting a feasibility and developing a business plan using an outside Marine Consultant of such a project several years ago and determined that there was no business case beyond the two week salmon fishing season.  To put it bluntly, the project presented as a financial disaster without significant government or city support on a monthly basis.

Voters must ask themselves if Mr. Clow has displayed the demeanor, diplomacy, depth of understanding, work ethic, analysis skills, and mental health we seek in a city councilor. In this post below he refers to the authors of propositions 176 and 177 as “stooges” and encouraged people to “drive by” and let us know how you feel.   We thought your vote let us know how you feel. Of course North Bend did not loose any police and fire safety as the city threatened and Mr. Clow presumed would happen.  And during the Rob Taylor’s show, Levi expressed no remorse for his poor judgment or regret in his reactionary and threatening post. North Bend citizens deserve qualified council representation!
